Shangri-La is a re-interpretation of the seaside shack, taking inspiration from simple wooden seaside buildings. Designed by award winning Mole Architects the house provides the chance to enjoy the very best of modern design. It is unlike a traditional Norfolk holiday cottage and provides the opportunity to experience modern architecture in the most beautiful of settings. The house feels spacious and light, the result of extensive south facing glazing and high vaulted ceilings. The internal walls are finished in washed plywood and there is simple oak flooring.
Two of the bedrooms are south-facing and have glazed doors directly onto the a covered terrace. The third bedroom is north facing but benefits from an en-suite shower room. The main living/dining/cooking area is open plan with a bespoke plywood kitchen with Miele appliances. The open plan area also contains the dining and living areas, both of which have large glazed areas giving fantastic views, day or night. There is a separate TV/games room so that everyone can have their own space.
The house is a designed according to Passivhaus standards meaning it uses very little energy for heating and is very comfortable. The house has excellent access for disabled people, including a walkway from the drive.
