Unbeatable access to dog friendly Waxham Beach awaits at Shangri-la House. Our garden gate leads directly to a path over the dunes, and within a minute, you're on a stunning sandy expanse where dogs are welcome year-round – a rarity in Norfolk!

Enjoy unrestricted walks and playtime with your furry friend on this massive stretch of sand, where often you do not meet anyone else.

Enhance your dog walk with a visit to a local, dog-friendly cafés. All are accessible from the beach itself, providing the perfect post-walk treat. Shangri-la House is ideally situated for exploring these spots on foot, with the Smallsticks Café at Happisburgh, being a longer but exceptionally scenic walk.

  • Beach Rock café in Sea Palling - approximately 15 min leisurely walk either on the beach or coastal path. Great for lunch, coffee and a cake. There are treats for dogs, including dog ice cream.

  • Journey to the Smallsticks Café at Happisburgh, an hour's walk that transcends time. Immerse yourself in a landscape of choice: stroll on the beach, traverse the coastal path with its sweeping field views or wander through undulating dunes, where marram grass dances around you and stunning panoramas unfold.

  • If you fancy a half hour walk, visit Poppylands tearoom. Head to Horsey Gap beach, it is a short walk inland from the beach via visitors car park. A must visit for history lovers.
